Midwest ENERGY Association (MEA) in conjunction with Heath Consultants announces the release of MAKESAFE Leak Detection Simulator. This new online gas leak simulation program presents the learner with a set of circumstances related to a reported gas leak. The learner then proceeds to investigate the reported leak using computer generated graphics, animation, and audio. The learner can perform several different actions during the simulation to control ignition source, turn off the gas, and vent the building in order to successfully complete the investigation. The simulator also provides for reinforcement of basic safety procedures, such as seat belt use, customer interactions, vehicle parking, and proper tool selection.

Midwest Energy Association (MEA) provides training to those who bring electricity and natural gas to American homes and businesses. The organization works in concert with their members to collaborate in the development of training programs and delivers to members and subscribers the best possible training at the lowest possible cost.
MEA started out providing training to their members on video tapes that integrated with workbooks and quickly moved to offering training material on CDs. They soon realized, however, that they needed a product that was easier to maintain and update and that their members needed a more cost effective solution.
